As a people pleaser, I learned to turn this trait into a positive tool throughout my career. I am fueled by creative enjoyment, self-improvement, my sense of responsibility and strong work ethic, and client satisfaction. I approach each opportunity with the goal to assist in every way I possibly can and be the person my co-workers and clients can depend on for open communication, solving technical difficulties, offering creative ideas and solutions, and implementing their visions to the highest standards.
I am forever grateful for those I have met throughout my journey and for the paths they have led me to. I have had the pleasure to work with and learn from many talented individuals on supportive, encouraging, and creative teams.
During my time as Broadcast Operator for Celebrity Cruises, I wore many hats filming and editing promos for activities and on-board revenue partners, guest speaker interviews, and the Cruise Director's Daily Show. Living on the ships and working 7 days per week for 6-month contracts, I was given time to explore Final Cut Pro, After Effects, AVID Media Composer, and Premiere Pro, as well as enjoy creative freedom when editing content.
I became a Master Control Operator at Fox Sports in Texas when I decided to return to land life. After a few months on night shift, I moved to prime time running live games, responding to technical difficulties within seconds, and preparing for rain delays and other possible obstacles during live feeds. This position required focused attention to detail, efficient communication with my supervisors and the producers, and preparation for anything that might go wrong. I feel this experience helped me hone those skills to use in my personal life as well as with future job opportunities.
My position as Assistant Editor on unscripted and scripted shows in Los Angeles brought me back to a creative path. This shift required me to adapt to new workflows during each contract, adhering to each editor or team's preferences, and furthered my technical and creative post-production skills. I worked as a coordinator and junior editor at Fresh TV in Washington D.C. before moving up from Junior/Assistant Editor to Editor during my time with National Geographic.
I functioned as the Head of Production & Video Editor at Curbio, creating marketing and social content to share with their talented and knowledgable marketing team. This required fast turnarounds, fielding daily requests and shifting of priorities, managing a video post-production schedule so the team would consistently have new material to pull from, swift adaptations and video audits to shifts in messaging and branding, and a creative mind to avoid letting the content feel too stagnant.
I currently am a freelance video editor, working on projects from Cisco TV and others, with a focus on a variety of both internal and external informative videos, virtual conferences, presentations, training modules and promotional advertisements. I also take on freelance and contract opportunities with TV projects or YouTube shows such as PBS' "What Can You Become" YouTube series or Assistant Editing on a new Netflix competition series.
